About

When writing the story of your life, don’t let anyone else hold the pen

Rebel Thriver

I have to be honest with you. I haven’t always been the type of woman to ask for what I wanted. We are taught to show up, step up, and go after our dreams. Easier said than done, right? Where do you even start? And what should you ask for? We are good at firing questions at others and asking more of others, but how come we don’t often ask more of ourselves? It requires us to ask the questions that reveal our deepest fears, but also unlock our wildest desires and set us on a fulfilled life path. As I discovered, “If you do not ask the right questions, you do not get the right answers. A question asked in the right way often points to its own answer.” - Edward Hodnett.

We can’t expect to get the answers we need from others if we are not asking ourselves these same questions to start with. And my “A-hah!” moment came when I realized that I needed to ask more of myself first. I needed to ask myself the right questions so I could get the answers that would light my path. I didn’t know the answers but I needed to start asking questions such as: What do I want out of life? What path will be more fulfilling? Who and what do I need and want on this journey? A famous scripture says: Ask and it shall be given. What are you not asking? What should you be asking yourself?
